Your messages, cards, phone calls, visits and tributes have brought us enormous comfort during an incredibly difficult time. Reading your memories has made us immensely proud of the lasting impact Dad had on so many lives through Staines RFC, Middlesex Rugby, Harlequins, London Irish, the London & South East Division and the wider rugby family.

Dad always believed rugby was about people first. He dedicated so much of his life to supporting others, developing the game and encouraging people to be the very best version of themselves. Seeing how many lives he touched has been both humbling and comforting.

Many have asked about the funeral arrangements. In keeping with Dad’s wishes, there will be a private family cremation and wake, and we respectfully ask that his wishes are honoured.

Although there won’t be a public service, we know Dad’s legacy will live on every time someone volunteers, coaches, referees or pulls on a rugby shirt with the values of respect, teamwork and service at heart.

Thank you once again for every message, every story and every act of kindness. Your support has meant more than words can express.

His race is run, but his legacy will live on through the game and the people he loved so dearly.
