50th Anniversary Season

Celebration Stag Dinner

The coming 2007/2008 rugby season is the 50th Anniversary of Chiswick RFC, formerly Old Meadonians RFC; it is also the 11th season as Chiswick RFC, and the 10th year of the Meadonian Club, and a series of celebration events will mark this significant “50th” milestone in the history of the Club.

One of these events is the 50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner, which is to be held at the East India Club, St James Square, London, on Saturday 26th January 2008; and to be managed by a small group (Ray Theakston, Steve Kick, Brian Martin, Les Kleyn, James Oliver, Roger Willingale, and Ted King) of Old Meadonians on behalf of the Meadonian Club, with sponsorship being sought from members of the Meadonian Club.

  • The venue, which is special, and menu are both agreed and booked – special note the venue has a maximum capacity of only 120.
  • The list of VIP guests, including the RFU President, Middlesex CRFU President and Secretary, and old friends from rugby club history have already been invited and have accepted.
  • In true rugby club tradition, the dinner will, of course be stag, but will be quality, memorable, and black tie.
  • The objective is to create a special evening for friends from the 50 Years to relax, to reminisce, and to celebrate.
  • The price of a ticket will be 70 pounds per head which will be fully inclusive of pre-dinner drinks, four course meal, wine, port etc (definitely not an evening to bring the car!!).

This, of course, is a rugby club event, and is expected to be over subscribed, the invitations will be issued in the coming weeks, and each acceptance, with a payment of 70 pounds, will be dealt with on a first come first served basis, so be prepared guys, to respond quickly and with payment – a 50 Years celebration of your own rugby club only happens once in a lifetime – DO NOT MISS IT!
